HAIL DAMAGE
ROOF REPAIR
When hail bruises a roof, the right response depends entirely on what the inspection finds — a targeted repair, a full replacement, or an insurance claim. RuFR USA does all three across Western North Carolina, and tells you honestly which one your roof actually needs. Hail damage hides in plain sight, so the worst thing you can do is guess: a free inspection turns "I think it might be fine" into a documented answer you can act on.
The Repairs
HAIL REPAIRS WE
RUN EVERY SEASON
Not every hail hit means a new roof. When the damage is genuinely localized, here is the repair work we do — and we will always tell you when a repair is the honest call instead of a replacement.
Slope-Section Repair
When impacts cluster on one or two slopes — usually the ones that faced the storm — we replace those damaged sections and blend the new shingles into the surrounding roof, rather than tearing off a roof that is still sound everywhere else. It is the honest fix when damage is truly localized, and it keeps money in your pocket.
Shingle Matching
We match the manufacturer, product line, and color as closely as your roof's age allows — and we are straight about the limits. A ten-year-old roof has weathered, and a fresh shingle beside it will never be a perfect twin. Where matching matters for appearance or resale, we say so before you decide anything.
Vent & Flashing Replacement
Hail dents metal, and the small metal parts are where big leaks begin. Dented vents, cracked pipe boots, and bent flashing get replaced during the repair — because a roof surface that sheds water perfectly still leaks if the penetrations through it were compromised by the same storm.
Gutter & Downspout Repair
The storm that dented your roof almost certainly dented the gutters and downspouts too, and that damage usually rides on the same insurance claim. We document and repair or replace creased, dented, and torn-loose runs alongside the roof so nothing the storm touched gets left off the scope.
Learn MoreClass 4 Upgrades
Repairing after hail is the natural moment to consider upgrading to Class 4 impact-resistant shingles, built to take the next storm far better than a standard shingle. Many insurers offer a premium discount for them, so the upgrade can partly pay for itself over the years you own the home.
Claim-First Guidance
If the damage is widespread, paying out of pocket for repairs is almost always the wrong move — that is exactly what your insurance is for. We inspect first and tell you honestly whether you are looking at a simple repair or a claim, before you spend a dollar you did not need to.
Learn MoreWhat Hail Does
THE DAMAGE YOU
CAN'T SEE FROM THE GROUND
Hail damage rarely looks dramatic from the driveway. It is usually not holes or missing shingles — it is bruising: spots where an impact crushed the shingle mat and knocked loose the protective granules, leaving the asphalt underneath exposed to the sun. Those bruises do not leak the week of the storm. They shorten the roof's life quietly over the years that follow, which is exactly why insurers pay to address them, and exactly why so much hail damage goes unclaimed until the window has already closed.
Quarter-sized hail — about an inch across — is enough to compromise the surface of an aging shingle roof, and wind speed, impact angle, and roof slope all change how much harm a given storm does. That is why two neighbors can come through the very same storm with completely different damage, and why the only reliable way to know what you are dealing with is to get on the roof and look at it up close.
- Bruised, hail-damaged shingles shed granules and age fast — but rarely leak right away
- Dented gutters, vents, and soft metals are the visible proof a storm hit hard
- Quarter-sized hail is enough to compromise an older shingle roof
- Claim windows close — a neighbor's approved claim is your cue to get checked
How It Works
FROM HAILSTORM
TO FIXED
Free hail damage roof inspection
A free hail damage roof inspection covers every slope by hand and by drone, plus the gutters, vents, siding, screens, and everything else a hailstorm tends to batter. Soft-metal collateral damage is often the clearest proof a storm was strong enough to have hurt the shingles, so we document all of it — not just the roof itself.
Repair vs. claim verdict
Isolated bruising on one slope is a repair. Widespread impacts across the whole roof are a claim — and our inspection follows the same protocol your insurance adjuster will use, so there are no surprises when they come out. You get a straight answer about which situation you are actually in, and why.
The work, done to install standard
Whether it is a section repair or a full replacement, the work is done to the same standard as our new roofs — matching materials, ice-and-water shield at the repair, and proper flashing and sealing at every penetration. A repair is never an excuse to cut the corners we would not cut on a full install.
Documentation you can use
You get before-and-after photos for your records or your claim file, plus clear written notes on exactly what was found and what we did — documented the way an insurance adjuster expects. If the work ties into a hail damage roof repair insurance claim, your paperwork is airtight, and you always know precisely what was done on your roof.
Western North Carolina homeowners trust RuFR USA to tell them the truth about storm damage — repair, replace, or claim — and say so, five stars at a time.
